To regulate and monitor mineral processing operations and metallurgical standards, and to provide metallurgical services to the mining industry.
Key functions
- Regulate and monitor mineral processing operations and metallurgical standards.
- Provide analytical, extractive, physical, ceramic and process metallurgy services.
- Audit mineral exports to ensure value, grade and quantity compliance.
- Conduct applied research and promote clean, mercury-free technologies.
- Monitor environmental compliance within metallurgical operations.
- Serve as focal point for the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
