Mandate
To coordinate the administration of the Mines and Minerals Act and implement mining cadastre best practice for the registration and recording of mining titles.
Key functions
- Coordinate the administration of the Mines and Minerals Act.
- Implement Mining Cadastre best practices in the Ministry.
- Recommend and facilitate the registration and recording of mining claims, sites and mining leases.
- Manage the capture of cadastral data on mining title registrations and transfers.
- Coordinate the technical examination of cadastral documents, diagrams and maps.
- Process duplicate certificates, Special Grant applications and Tribute Agreements.
- Investigate and assess mining disputes and process documents for their resolution.
